| Nothing better than watching the sun go down in a quiet bay with your family and friends. Georgian Bay is simply Awesome in so many ways... and it is rightin our backyard! |
Well folks it's been fun, and a lot of work, having this blog but I think it gave you a pretty good example of what a post secondary class would look like and what a professor would be looking for.
This week is pretty simple. Find a picture of your favourite place(s) or favourite person(s) or favourite animal(s) or all of the above. Something that shows how great this world is and how beautiful and lucky we are to be on this Earth.
Remember to comment on two other people's pictures and I will too.

ReplyDeleteI was unable to post the picture, so I changed my profile picture to it. It is my cottage today, one of my favorite summer places. To see it larger you can view my google profile.
ReplyDeleteIs that Georgian Bay? I love the rocks, the trees and the water; a vast amount of resources there and one that must be protected. Enjoy your summer at the cottage.
DeleteVery beautiful view! I can see how this is such an awesome place to spend the summer. Enjoy it!

ReplyDeleteI couldn't figure it out either so I just uploaded it as my profile picture as well.
ReplyDeleteI took this picture in Boston this year. It is a fence that is very close to the Boston marathon site. Its amazing to see how many people tied their fabrics, flags, socks (anything that you could think of) to show their respects for the Boston marathoners. Its beautiful to see how people from all around the world can come together to show their love for one and other.
This picture is awesome Anne, and it's so great you got to be there to see it for yourself!
DeleteAwesome. Yes the strongest entity in the world is Love. Pass it along.

My picture is of a group of dancers from an ethnic/cultural group that I am from: the Kalinago. They are native to southern-central and south Americas and were decimated after Columbus first came to the West Indies. I chose this picture because it made me happy and proud to see that they are able to keep up a culture that almost became nonexistent.
Very Cool. Make sure you keep in touch with your heritage. Have a great summer.
DeleteVery cool picture! good to see

ReplyDeleteSo this is a group called Give Back Films and they make youtube videos showing how they are helping people less fortunate than them or even the make someone's day. Some of the things they did was tip a hotel cleaner $500, pay for a family's car repairs, gave children their dream Christmas presents, gave $100 to the homeless, etc. This shows that there are people in this world with kinds hearts and do not just use their money on themselves but on others. It shows great kindness and they inspire me to do something like this and give back to people less fortunate than I am or even just to make someone smile. It is truly incredible what they do.
Just keep smiling and the world will smile with you. Great photo and just a thought but September 1st is random act of kindness day (or RAK day) and would be an excellent opportunity for anyone to do something totally random and kind. Have a great summer.
DeleteHad a very hard time figuring out how to upload pictures so here is a link of one of my all time favourite places, Banff, Alberta. I went to Banff a few years ago and it was absolutely astonishing. It was such an unbelievable contrast from the bland suburban surroundings in which I'm accustomed to. Places like that need to be protected because beautiful forests, mountains and lakes are the truest form of beauty that there is, in my opinion. It was there before cars, urbanization, and industrialization. It's unfortunate that Banff is such a touristy like town, but I have never seen anything as beautiful as up on the mountain in the fresh air. I hope that everyone gets a chance to go hike on lake Louise because it is definitely something worth seeing at least once in your life. A view like that makes the stresses of everyday disappear and it is evidence that we live in a truly beautiful world.
ReplyDeleteHere it is!

You are right, Banff is beautiful. It changes you doesn't it? Thought about moving there after visiting just once. Crazy. Have a great summer.
DeleteThat is a beautiful view for sure Gabrielle! It's amazing that we have such a beautiful location so close to us that many of us haven't visited, or have even known about.

ReplyDeleteAssuming this link works fine, this is just a picture of my dog. Toby has been part of my life since I was 2 years old and I have no memory of ever really living without him. He's the nicest, least aggravating, most mild mannered dog I have ever met and probably my favourite animal of all time. Although the world wouldn't change without him, mine would.
Beautiful dog and great photo. The love of a dog is something very special. Enjoy the summer with him.
