1) If they did it in Cuba where else could they do this?
2) What does the US have to gain from this?
3) Why would they do this?
4) How does this make you feel about the American style of governing?

This is my weekly post:
ReplyDeleteI found this to be slightly disturbing that the United states would feel they had the right to do this, if it was committed against the US I believe that the media surrounding this would be a bit different. Yet I am left wondering why this would be so.
I understand that our government is allies with the US and therefore share a similar agenda yet I would find it hard to believe that our government would participate in such an activity. If they were to I believe that our public would be enraged by such an act. Yet I have not heard any news around this from any american or canadian news organisations, I would have thought that this would have made headlines. yet it seems that it has slipped under the radar.

I suppose I am a little more of a negative thinker than you are Dale, as I was not surprised to hear that the U.S had done such a thing. Nor was I all that taken aback at knowing that Canada was backing it. Although I do have faith in our government for the most part, I would not put it past a lot of western countries to have extreme superiority complexes. This is why I found it interesting that you would say that the media surrounding the issue would have been different had the table been turned. I agree with that statement whole-heartedly. I believe that the U.S (and even Canada) would probably react hypocritically to another country doing the same thing to them, and that it would have a lot more influence on the media.
